Jung said in his The Development of Personality, “One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.”

I think it’s not just me. My seniors at Medical School (we call it medical college in our country), those who were fortunate enough to have Mueed Sir as their anatomy teacher, I believe all of us carry one sentence buried deep in our subconscious. Sir’s words, “Be a good human being first. You’ll become a good doctor on your own.” Jung called this an “archetype”, a deep imprint that slowly reshapes the way a person thinks and chooses.
I wrote something like this a long time ago. I’m writing it again today because I am certain, anyone who had Sir as their teacher is still being guided from within by these very words.
Thank you, Mueed Sir. Still striving to be a good human being and a good doctor. We are indebted to you.
